Events for City Districts

Tampere has over 100 districts. Cultural Affairs works together with various regional societies, neighbourhood associations and resident associations. The goal is to encourage the residents to organise neighbourhood events themselves and make it easier for people to participate in the events. You don’t always have to go to the city centre to experience things! Cultural Affairs assists associations with the practical side of organising free access public events.

The cooperation efforts may result in events such as neighbourhood days, children’s events, Sing-alongs and various performances e.g. concerts and plays.

Cultural Affairs also publishes a range of books on the districts of Tampere. In addition, Cultural Affairs has been involved in creating numerous cultural trails that allow the residents to experience Tampere from a brand new perspective. The trails can be found on the Finnish pages in pdf or wmv forms. You can go on the trails when and how it best suits you, be it walking, biking or driving. We try to constantly come up with new trails and our aim is to have a network of cultural trails that cover the entire city of Tampere. The cultural trails are currently only available in Finnish.
