Cultural Affairs is an active organiser of children's events. Tampere is known as the cradle of children’s culture in the Pirkanmaa region. The ample supply of cultural services is guaranteed by a joint project called Pirkkanen, which is aimed at promoting children's culture in the Pirkanmaa region. One example of the annual activities organised by Pirkkanen is the Pirkanmaa children’s week of culture in February.
The Children's Cultural Centre Rulla is located in a former textile factory, which has now been transformed into a colourful children's exhibition space. The centre hosts continuously changing exhibitions and events. The idea is for children to have a place to come in, enjoy art and participate in creating it themselves. Rulla has non-stop workshops where children's creativity gets to shine. For further information on the centre, please click on the links on the lef-hand side of the page! Rulla welcomes children of all ages to visit the changing exhibitions and to experience art and culture free of charge.
