Opening Ceremony


The Opening Ceremony will be held in Tampere Ice Stadium on Sunday 19th July 2009 at 20:00.


Kindly notice that the Ceremony will be ticketed. Accreditation card will function as a ticket for athletes and other registered members of the delegation. Seats for the teams will be reserved according to the number of registered delegates. EOC Family and NOC Guests will receive a separate invitation for the ceremony.


Kindly notice that due to the limited number of seats in the Stadium we are unable to guarantee entry to the Ceremony for additional participants such as family members or other supporters.


However there shall be some available seats for audience. Part of these places will be located on terraces (standing-room-only-section). In case you are willing to receive extra tickets for the Opening Ceremony we kindly ask you to inform us the estimated number of tickets needed for your NOC by using the the electronic form . Preliminary reservation should be done by 15th June at the latest.

Please notice that this is preliminary reservation only and at this state we cannot guarantee the final number of seats available. Vacant seats will be distributed evenly. The number of seats per NOC will be confirmed in the beginning of July.

Closing Ceremony



The Closing Ceremony will be held in Tampere Stadium Ratina on Friday 24th July 2009 at 20:00.


The Closing Ceremony will be open for all participants and audience. Kindly notice that also the Closing Ceremony will be ticketed. Accreditation card will function as a ticket for registered delegates. All other participants need to have a ticket for the Ceremony.


Extra tickets for the Closing Ceremony can be reserved by using the electronic form

Reservation should be done by 15th June at the latest.


Tickets for Closing Ceremony can be collected from the Olympic Village during the Festival week. For the Closing Ceremony ticket can be collected during the Festival week also without a prior reservation.
