The European Youth Olympic Festival Tampere (EYOF) was ended according to the Olympic protocol in Ratina on the 24th of July 2009.
The closing ceremony was opened with fanfares and the official festival
song Strength of Mind (GO!), performed by Beats and Styles. The figures
of the festival logo took control of the grass area along in the center
of the arena along with gymnastics and fire blowing performers. A group
of break dancers warmed up the atmosphere while the happy and cheering
group of thousands of young athletes arrived with their air balloons.
The first official speeches were held by the Mayor of Tampere
Timo P. Nieminen and the Chairman of the EOC Patrick Hickey. The
Olympic flag was taken down while the Olympic hymn was played at the
background. The whole audience rose to blow out the Olympic fire.
The Olympic flag was folded in festive manner and handed
according to the protocol to Mayor of Tampere Timo P. Nieminen. The
Mayor of the City of Trabzon Orhan Fevzi Gümrükcüoglu had arrived to
receive the flag for the next EYOF to be held in Turkey in 2011. He

Some of the audience has escaped from the heavy rain. The
Turkish dance performance put the audience back to life. The dance was
continued by a Finnish national dance performance.
