Giufrida Odette has won the under 48 kg girls European Championship 2009 in Slovakia. You can tell that judo is the number one thing for Giufrida even if she sometimes allowes herself to chill out. I interviewed her in the Tampere Ice stadium at the European Youth Olympic Festival Tampere (EYOF) on day three, 22nd July 2009.
Q: How old are you and when are you born?
A: 14 years, born 1994 Q: How long have you been doing judo? A: Since I was 6 years old Q: What does it take mentally, physically and technically to become a champion? A: I don’t know because I do not feel like being a champion yet. Q: Who do you have here to support you? A: My trainer calls me every day about tactics. Q: What other hobbies do you have? A: Only judo Q: What do you do after EYOF? A: I will spend 2 days on the beach and on the 28th July I will start preparing for championships taking place in Budabest between 6th-8th August. Q: Do you look forward to the disco finishing EYOF on Friday? A: Sure!!! 45 countries, from the total of 49 countries participating EYOF, take part into judo.
