The Olympic park was opened

The Olympic park was opened in Ahvenisniitty on Monday the 20th july 2009.
The opening speeches were held by the representative of Tampere City Timo Hanhilahti, Timo P. Nieminen, Chairman of the EOC Patrick Hickey and the President of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge, who revealed the commemorative stone. The 49 representatives of each country helped to reveal the Olympic rings. The opening ceremony of the Olympic park ended with fanfare.
