Opening Ceremony


Tampere Ice Stadium on Sunday 19th July 2009 at 20:00.


Opening Ceremony will start the festival week on Sunday evening. Athlete’s parade and charming programme will offer a great start for the week. Opening Ceremony is open for Athletes and other registered members of the Delegation. Kindly notice that due to the limited number of seats Opening Ceremony is not open for public.


Family members of athletes and other supporters kindly contact your local NOC if you are willing to take part in the Opening Ceremony. Available extra tickets will be distributed evenly between NOCs in July. Note! Tickets are very limited and entry to the Opening Ceremony cannot be guaranteed!

Closing Ceremony


Tampere Stadium Ratina on Friday 24th July 2009 at 20:00.


Closing Ceremony will finish the great week of events. Festival programme and cheerful atmosphere is worth seeing! Come along and enjoy the Olympism! Closing Ceremony is open for public.


Tickets are free of charge. Pre-reservation is not needed, however a ticket needs to be collected before the event. Entrance by ticket or accreditation card only. Collect your ticket from the Tourist Information Office during the festival week.

Saturday-Sunday 9:30-17:00

A limited amount of tickets are available from the Ratina Stadium before the ceremony.
