41. CONTEMPORARY AMERICAN ART,
7 February - 10 April 1988
The Sara Hildén Art Museum showed an extensive
exhibition of contemporary American art. It included ten artists: Jake
Berthot, Ross Bleckner, Eric Fischl, Ellsworth Kelly, Brice Marden, Sol
LeWitt, David Salle, Frank Stella, Richard Tuttle and Cy Twombly.
Altogether 75 paintings and sculptures were on display,
covering both floors of the museum. The works were borrowed specifically
for this exhibition from American and European collections and from the
artists themselves.
The exhibition was realized together with the Kunstnernes
Hus in Oslo. After Tampere the exhibition was shown in Oslo from 23 April
to 29 May 1988.
