Mallander's individual pieces of art, as well as his series, had been seen at various exhibitions over the years, but a more comprehensive survey of his work had never been organized.

The exhibition comprised Mallander's sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs and graphic art from 1965-86. The exhibition included his most famous installations: "Garage" and "Towards Pure Earth" (with photographs documenting the history of the work) as well as "Wang". The exhibition filled the whole upper floor of the museum.

The exhibition was mounted in cooperation with the artist himself.
