17. KIMMO KAIVANTO,
3 October - 29 November 1982
The objective was to have a comprehensive, retrospective
exhibition of the work of Kimmo Kaivanto (b. 1932 Tampere). The main focus
was on Kaivanto's artistic development. This factor was taken into consideration
when deciding where Kaivanto's works were to be placed for the
exhibition.
In addition to paintings, sculptures and graphic art,
there were also examples of posters and stage sets designed by Kaivanto.
The exhibition also included many sketches as well as objects important
to the artist, and there was also a variety of associated material, which
enabled viewers to follow the development of the artist's ideas and working
methods.
The number of works totalled 268, but there were also
approximately 200 other items, comprising sketches, studies and
maquettes.
Both floors of the museum were used for the exhibition.
