11. JAAKKO SIEVÄNEN,
11 April - 31 May 1981
A retrospective exhibition of paintings and drawings by
Jaakko Sievänen (b. 1932 Renko) was opened in April in all exhibition
rooms on the upper floor of the museum with the exception of the Graphics
Room. A total of 41 paintings and 24 drawings from 1960-81 were on
display.
In compiling the exhibition, particular attention was
given to the works' chronological order, so that visitors would be able
to follow the artist's development from an Informalist, abstract style
towards a more realistic, figurative type of expression.
