08. FINNISH AND INTERNATIONAL ART COLLECTION OF THE SARA HILDÉN FOUNDATION,
25 September 1980 - 8 March 1981

An exhibition of Finnish Constructivist works from the collection of the Sara Hildén Foundation was on display in Gallery A from the end of September to the end of 1980.

At the beginning of 1981 works were rehung in the museum in an order that followed
the art-historical chronology and stylistic background of the works as clearly as possible.

Representatives of the collection's modern art classics, from Bonnard and Picasso to Josef Albers, were placed in the Central Gallery. Early Finnish Modernist works (1910-1960), from Sallinen to Enroth, with the emphasis on figurative art, were on show in Gallery A. Gallery B was given over to Finnish Informalist works and abstract art in general. Finnish Pop Art and Neo-Realism were on display in Gallery C.

On the lower ground floor, Finnish sculpture was on Level A, international Informalist works were on Level B, and international Pop Art and Neo-Realist works were on Level C.

A total of 19,298 visitors attended the exhibition.
