CIMUSET 2012 Conference
We would like to welcome you to the 42th CIMUSET Conference in Finland in August 2012. The meeting will start in Tampere August 28 and end in Helsinki August 31.
The International Council of Museums (ICOM) has 26 international committees, each devoted to the study of a particular type of museum or to a specific museum-related discipline.
The International Committee for Museums and Collections of Science and Technology (CIMUSET) is composed of museum professionals from the fields of science and technology. The committee is not only dedicated to traditional museums of science and technology, largely historical and collection based, but also to contemporary science centres, working primarily to popularize and promote science and technology among children and young people all over the world.
CIMUSET 2012 is dedicated to the theme of Brighter Perspectives for Science and Technology Museums. The Conference embraces two main topics including New Approaches, Perspectives and Technologies for the Exhibitions and Interaction & Co-Operation with the Different Actors. There is also a possibility to give shorter talks on current issues at the science and technology museums and science centers.
